The JJGPS adds a new transfer to criminal court topic and reorganizes the discussion of transfer provisions.

The Juvenile Justice GPS team has added a new topic to chart the shift in discretion for who decides to transfer youth from juvenile court to criminal court.  The purpose is to provide a four-decade picture of the shift in discretion for transfer to criminal court away from juvenile court judges and to prosecutors and state legislatures.

NCJJ has also revised the display and discussion of specific transfer provisions from a list of unrelated policies to a grouping of provisions or transfer policy mechanisms by the court type a transfer filing originates within.  Feedback on the new topic and reorganization are welcome by submitting feedback on the GPS website.
